Updated websites are a good investment
Web technology is developing at breakneck speed. All the major web frameworks have frequent updates. Much of the development is aimed at security, but also functionality. This also applies to WordPress and PHP.

Remember that an updated software is a healthy software. You should take the frequent updates as a sign that the software developers care about the health of the software. When WordPress and PHP are updated, the new versions should be implemented immediately. We can help you with that!
At Dekode , our ambition is to ensure that your investment in a project has a long lifespan and serves your purpose for a number of years. An important part of this work is ongoing updates and maintenance. Both to ensure that your web solution has the latest updates, and to ensure that you have access to the latest features WordPress has to offer.
There are many good reasons for this:
Five good reasons to keep your website up to date

Update of PHP
PHP is the programming language that runs on your server. This should be on the latest version so that security at server level is not compromised. In addition, updates here will often fix bugs and give you access to new features - while making it easier for developers to work on the site.
Updating WordPress
WordPress usually comes with major updates two to three times a year. All WordPress updates have a high focus on optimizing the user experience, both for the editor and for the end user. In some releases, there will be functionality that is replaced and no longer supported by WordPress.
Each release emphasizes increased performance and speed. New features for the editor, optimized code and security updates are often included that are worth taking note of.
By implementing the new features, your website will have a longer lifespan. It will also be easier to further develop the site over time.
We can update for you
Updating WordPress and PHP is something we are happy to do for you through a separate agreement. It's a relatively simple operation and requires little or no involvement on your part. In most cases, we can do a pre-qualification of the updates before they are carried out. If we find code that needs to be updated, we will inform you of this before they are carried out.
Why is this not included in the operating agreement?
The advantage of being on WordPress, a CMS based on open source code, is that there are no license costs associated with WordPress. What's more, there's a huge community that's passionate about improving the product at all times.
Like all products in continuous improvement, it happens that some functions are no longer further developed - as other and better solutions have been chosen. It is therefore difficult for us at Dekode to check that all functions work at all times. We cannot take responsibility for guaranteeing that everything works from the time the project is delivered and in perpetuity.
Having said that, we update what we can, and ensure that security is always safeguarded for all of ours clients . We offer our clients that we update WordPress both as an individual "mini-project" or in the form of an ongoing agreement. This is to ensure that your online solution always has access to the latest functions, with all the advantages it entails.
